R.I.P. Challenge

Here is the list of books for the four perils I'm going to attempt:

Peril the First:
Bloody Bones (Laurell K. Hamilton)
The House of the Seven Gables (Nathaniel Hawthorne)
Danse Macabre (Stephen King)
The Thirteenth Tale (Diane Setterfield)--audiobook

Peril the Second:
The Historian (Elizabeth Kostova)
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell (Susanna Clarke)

Bonus Peril #1:
Fragile Things (Neil Gaiman)

Short Story Peril:
Lovedeath (Dan Simmons)
Love in Vein II (ed. Poppy Z Brite--4 selections)

I'll post a picture of the book stack, links, etc. early next week, after I've recovered from my trip to Kansas.

yay for taking on a crap load of perils like me :) Great choices...looks like we get to compare notes on a few!

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is great! Can't wait to hear what you think. I'm interested to hear about what you think of Love in Vein as well. I used to like Poppy Z Brite back in the day...I know she just edited this collection, but I'm still curious about it.

Good luck and happy recovery ;)

Fantastic list of perils! The Thirteenth Tale is a great book, hope you enjoy it! Same goes for The Historian and Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. Love all three of those.

chris--yeah, I'm doing the glutton/punishment dance for this one, but if I'm going to be serious about this writing thing, I need to have the material, and the practice.

quixotic--Thanks! I'm looking forward to these big ones, and hope I can get through them with all the others in my stack.
