Non-Fiction Five Challenge

Because I can't resist...

Here's my preliminary list of 5:

Gifts of the Wild: A Woman's Book of Adventure
How the Irish Saved Civilization (Thomas Cahill)
Just a Geek (Wil Wheaton)
Wolves at Our Door (Jim and Jamie Dutcher)
The Devil in the White City (Erik Larson)

If I have time, I'll read selections from this list, as my mood dictates:
Seeking Enlightenment hat by Hat (Nevada Barr)
The Land Remembers (Ben Logan)
The Way of Zen (Alan W. Watts)
Molly Ivins Can't Say That, Can She?
I Sleep at Red Lights (Bruce Stockler)

Wolves at Our Door is a lovely book, fascinating and moving. If you haven't seen the film, I can heartily recommend that too.

This is a challenge I will have to ponder - I had been thinking that I really need to catch up on my non-fiction reading...hmmm.

I think I did see the documentary, many years ago. I should see if it's available through netflix, and watch it again after I'm through with the book.

Someday, Ill tell the story of how I was introduced to the wolf culture.

As far as the challenge goes, I figured it would make me keep to a writing schedule.

You have some wonderful choices, Marina. The Devil In the White City is on my alternates list. I'm not sure I'll get to it, but I sure would like to. I'm looking foward to reading your thoughts about the book!

marina - I'd love to hear that story. My love of wolves comes from my love of dogs and exploration of behaviour/health/diet information etc.

Hi Marina! Welcome to the Non-Fiction Five Challenge! I'm so glad that you found us. I only recognize one of your choices, but they all look interesting. We'll be starting in a few days...woo hoo! :) Happy Reading!

That Thomas Cahill book was great! I've got his latest on my TBR shelves....
